*head spins

The delay on whatever was the first instrument was making me dizzy. Not for me. Also, the kick seemed a bit too heavy, like a dull throb in my head. I liked the ending best, it was a shocking change from the heavy dancesque to go to the nice ambient pads.
Well done.

Nice, upbeat, generally well done.
My head didn't quite agree with some of the synths, especially the higher up ones, and this song was definetly too long for it's own good. Keep it short and sweet, or else long and diverse. After two and a half minutes, i greatly appreciated the change and 2:2~.
Generally well done, but maybe not my cup of tea.

DrDIL responds:

Thanks.

Perhaps when I learn how to mix properly I'll change some of the stuff and post a Radio Edit on here? :)

Cool sound. I can picture the piano roll, and see what you mean about up and down :P Well done. You definetly seem to know what you're doing.
Maybe try making something break-beat or techno. It's always good to try to expand your horizons. Nice work.

giovanni808 responds:

Thx :b And when i get better, i will experiment with all genres to see what works best.

Well done. Very simple, sounds nice, creates the mood very nicely, generally well done.
I myself am enjoying this greatly, but it is a tad repetitive, and i know more than one person who would quit listening after 30 seconds because "It's not intense enough". I'm going to go look at your other stuff now.

giovanni808 responds:

I know it's a bit repetive :b But someone said my audio were to short, and i expanded it, but then it sounded repetive :D
Thx for the review

INTENSE

Totally awesome!!

My only complaint is that this is probably too long for its own good. Try 2 - 2 1/2 minutes instead of four next time.

Jebbal responds:

I thought about taking out the second half of the song since its pretty much the same as the beginning, but then it wouldn't let me upload any more new versions since it got 3,000 listens or whatever the limit is.

I might redo the whole song and submit that separately.

Thanks for the review!

Cool

Very well constructed, generally fits together nicely. I loved the strings wherever they appeared. I definetly wasn't expecting the turn towards drum and bass, but it was a pleasant surprise. It seems just a little bit empty, like it could use something to fill in the space. I think i faintly hear a synth or string or something in the background, but i might be crazy. If i'm not, then bring it out. Well done, generally well rounded, but a little bit hollow. Keeping in mind it could be my speakers....

LJCoffee responds:

Thanks for the comments. I suppose I could add an ambient pad or two to fill it out a bit. There was a reese and a sub in there but I opted to remove those before I uploaded. The reese was a bit too much but maybe sticking the sub back in might help as well.

Again - thanks!

V Review is down there V

The drum beat came out on top of the melody, and kindof drowned it out. Consider turning the volume on the drums down, or the volume on the synths up. The third synth that i heard sounded largely out of place.

*cough look at my stuff too please cough*

carl565 responds:

it was my first project that ive ever done (yes i have alot more!) so i didnt have alot of experience with fl studio. ill make a remake of it.

Cool

- Nice drum beats.
- Great intro
- Started to get a tad repetitive after about a minute

This sort of music isn't my expertise, so i'm afraid i can't offer much more critisism than that. Cool song, but maybe a bit too long for its own good. Well done.

flashmac responds:

yeah, I get what you mean. It's supposed to be a rapping track. I guess it could've only been one verse but oh well. Glad you liked it man =D

Just read the review!! Garsh!!

-This improve ran out of steam after about a minute. After that it just sortof sank to the back of my mind.
-The bassline got rather annoying after a while, as it seemed to just be octaves playing the same descending pattern for the entire song.
-The quality itself wasn't very good, but that's hardly your fault. Look into getting a keyboard that you can plug into the computer if you plan to keep doing these improvs. It would improve the general enjoyability a lot if the sound was better.
-There seemed to be parts where you were hugging the chords too much, but there were definetly tons of places where you seemed to be doing everything but hugging to chords, so kudos.

Consider looking into other keys than C Minor. As awesome as C Minor is (I love it too, it's just such a great key...) you should try the other ones too. Give F Minor a try too, I rather like it.

Keep it up. This is a great improv, better than i can manage (so far...) and it reeks of potential. Now i'm going to go check out your other stuff. Best of luck.

Los-Illuminados responds:

yeah well my 2 most (and basically only used) keys are c minor and a minor. ive fiddled around with d minor so im getting around to that one

thx for the feed back and ill look into this next time! ^.^

Lets see...

I'll admit, that was a pretty awesome sound, but (an no offense is intented) come on, do us all a favor, we want real music! Not just one strange sound!! At least list it as a misc. loop next time you have the bright idea of showing the world this sort of experiment.
Or better still, stick to making music.
Thank you.

Laikros responds:

T'was only an experiment. Don't worry, music is still in my head.

West is my surname, as in the direction on the compass. Hence, Dj Compass! Music is my passion. I love love love it. So one day i bought FL. Hopefully i'll buy a nice VST one of these days... Images by Mysterious-Wind of deviantArt. Check out her art ^^
